Good morning!
My name is Caroline, and welcome to a blog dealing with IndyMedia. IndyMedia, or Independant Media is a term meaning media (of various types), that deal with self-created media. In this blog, often that means Zines, or small hand-made, hand-bound publications.
It's my goal to bring you to the world of zines, a world that very few people get a sneak peek at, and it's a huge, wonderful place. You might see Zines for sale in a non-chain bookstore here and there, or on the web in places called Zine Distros. I run a zine distro, and get to see lots of interesting zines and will be bringing them to you.
The cool part about IndyMedia is that it's run by ordinary people. Real, live, breathing human beings, not soulless corporations. People doing interesting things with their lives that aren't bound by normal conventions.
This blog originally was about Zine Reviews, but I've expanded it after being approached by a few people about doing other things. Hopefully we'll even get a few interviews on board, which would spice things up quite a bit.
If you're a producer of independant media, if you write or draw your own works, and this includes having them professionally printed, then by all means, submit your work to me. Due to the volume of submissions I receive, my current reviewing queue is about a month, sometimes two. If you're doing a book release, please tell me the intended publication date and I'll co-incide the review to match that date.
Please note that I need to have the *physical* product, be it a Zine, a Book, a Craft, or Music. I critique the product as a whole. You can send these directly to my Post Office Box:

Pleae email me directly regaurding a CD review. There are only certain genre's of CD's that I can fairly review. I'll probably ask you for a website URL and listen to your online work before making the decision for a review. I'm very picky about this, and unsolicited CD's will probably NOT be reviewed. I'm sorry about that, but writing a CD review takes a *LOT* more time than a zine review, and a book review even longer than both.
